Everyone struggles with motivation every once in a while, even the toughest guys and girls out there don’t always feel like doing some of the things that are necessary to reach their goals.
I am very big on realistic and positive self-talk when it comes to getting shit done. I try and keep my mind away from excuses and feeling bad about something in order to do what I need to do. I don’t feel like training, sweating and being in ”the pain cave” every day but I do it regardless, because that is what needs to be done. You absolutely don’t have to do the same thing that I am doing on a daily basis but these tips will carry over to whatever area of your life you’re struggling with.

You don’t have to do this, you get to do this
If you’re struggling to get going, remember that unfortunately enough there will always be someone that is not able to do what you’re about to do. If you’re struggling to find it within you to workout, remember that there are loads of people out there that are physically not able to do what you do. I am damn sure they would love to be able to do the things that we can, keep that in mind next time you’re think about blowing off whatever it is you need to do
Don’t set yourself back
Whatever you’re (thinking of) procrastinating, you’re going to do the task at hand at some point anyway. Why not do it now? why relax? Why are you not doing it now? Now that you have time for it, so you can enjoy the benefits of getting it done later. From experience I have learned that working hard first and then reaping the benefits is so much sweeter than procrastinating while not doing anything productive and having to do it later anyways. If you procrastinate long enough you might end up setting you and your goals back for months. A couple of days might not seem like a big deal but that could be enough time to hinder yourself. Months from now, you’re going to be happy that you started it / did it now.
Get rid of the excuses
”My hands are hurting” is something my brain tells me almost every single day of the week. If I would to listen to that voice in my head, stuff would rarely get done. Me telling myself that my hands are hurting or ignoring the fact will make no difference in the actual situation, but the first option will give you an easy way out while the latter is pushing you to get it done anyway. It would be stupid of me not to accept the fact that my hands are hurting. Like I talked about previously, I know that I am going to do what I need to do anyways so I might as well shut that voice out. Not giving those thoughts a voice is the first step to ignoring it and getting your stuff done regardless of anything.
Do you want it? Just get it done!
Assuming that this is something you want, you made the decision to go after that goal. You need to put in the work otherwise the time you have already put in will have lead to nothing. If you really want it, you will have to put in hard work and forget about distractions. It shouldn’t feel like a sacrifice because you’re the one that wants it. If you really want it, I should not be the reason why you start putting in the work, you should be the reason.
